The Empire was built opened in 1911 as a cinema, it was then used as a bingo hall in the late 1960's, 2001 it was changed to the Bourbon Street Night Club, then 2005 it was changed to the Zen Night Club. It was eventually closed in 2008 then re-opened in 2021 in its current format.
