Bar to rear with a reasonable selection of ales. Room upstairs which I didn't visit. Problem, as Will notes below - it is a very noisy place With people talking sounding more like bellowing. Wouldn't stop here for more than one drink.

A bigger than average micropub, given the extra seating upstairs where there is table football. So, more like a bar really, a point emphasised by the availability of drinks other than cask ale. There are six hand pumps with four beers on (Roosters, Chin Chin, Hawkshead and Fell), with the only cider on keg along with a lager and two "craft" beers, which both had a price of £5.50 written beside them on the blackboard. I went for the Chin Chin Strong Dark Mild 5%, which was ok, though seemed expensive at £1.80 a half, but then I'd just paid 67p at the Windmill. The owner was not particularly outgoing, but maybe he was still getting straight after having opened just 15 minutes before I arrived - 2pm. It was fairly quiet with just four or five others, but the absence of any soft furnishings (just normal chairs at three high tables and three lower, no cushions or upholstery) makes me think it'll be noisy if more than a dozen talkers turn up, their voices re-echoing off all the hard surfaces.

Thin shop conversion, stairs in corner lead to the toilets. The counter is at the back and provides six pulls, four in use when I dropped in, all from small Yorkshire breweries and there's a low t-bar of four keg beers, and not the usual suspects. It has low tables down one side and higher ones on the other side. Standard sort of micro really, although there's an upstairs I didn't visit.
