Unfortunately I was unlucky in that there was no real ale on when I visited on Monday afternoon. One pump was unclipped, and the other had a Doom Bar clip reversed. Soon after I arrived the manager or barman started pulling through the Doom Bar pump, but nothing was advertised before I left. I saw a cocktail deal advertised on Thursdays - two for £10. I didn't look that closely at the menu, but I did see a brunch menu, with the full English at £10.5 and burgers at £12.
The room has exposed brickwork everywhere; there's a bare-boarded floor plus distressed woodwork of course, and some grey-painted surfaces. Furnishings are mainly tall tables/tall stools, but with also some upholstered bench seating. There was a greeter's stand by the front door, but not deployed during my visit, but possibly in use when it gets busy which I guess is when they have live music on a Saturday. There's also a fair bit of outside seating at the front.
It's a modern bar with little or no traditional pub character. But if you are lucky enough to hit it when they have a decent real ale on - and WhatPub mentions By The Horns and Signal Brewery beers - then I guess it's a reasonable enough spot to enjoy a quiet pint if you don't visit at a busy time.

A bustling street corner place with a large covered roadside terrace in front and a reasonably pleasant large room inside. By the Horns Hopadelic was on handpump, with something else due on shortly. It usefully fills a gap in an area of few pubs but otherwise is not really worth a detour.
