A continental style pavement café consisting of a battered-looking single room bar with scruffy floorboards and an air of grime. There is no real ale, just a weird samovar-sort-of-thing on the bar counter dispensing, one assumes, gin. I can see the appeal, sort of, but the welcome wasn’t very warm, and it just came across as a novel idea badly executed. An anagram of the bar’s name is Vile Gonad In, which was rather off-putting when looking at the nibbles, so we decided to Go And Live In somewhere else.
