Visited on a Tuesday afternoon in July. Two of three hand pulls in operation at the time of my visit. I went for Thornbridge Twin Peaks at £2.05 a half, the other was Abbeydale Matins. Eight key taps in addition, with all being crafty rather than mainstream options. Hot drinks also available.
Snacks including pork pies also available and seemed reasonably priced.
Small inside - think micropub, with an even smaller courtyard outside on the platform with a few small tables and seats. There is a perspex screen in front of the pumps, making service a little awkward, and is presumably a carryover from COVID. Cash and card are accepted.
There is clothing merch hanging from the bar.
There is some pleasant old tiling of interest.
Craft stuff is listed by the third, half and full pint but there does appear to be some mark-up for smaller measures. For example:
La Trappe - £6.50 pint / £3.55 half / £2.95 third
Herding Chickens (Lost Cause) - £4.90 pint / £2.55 half / £2.15 third
It would make a very pleasant stop if using the station, and even if not it is worth seeking out, but be prepared for the limited space.

Finally managed a swift one between trains. It’s a really nice interior (a CAMRA outstanding pub conversion) with tiled walls and a green ceiling, plus some framed technical drawings. However it also extremely small, very crushed and was quite uncomfortable on a midweek afternoon – about room for 12-14 seated inside and a chunk of those are in the way of people going to and from the servery. Three cask on, my Silent Brew Marion was par (NBSS 3). Useful to know about but not one I’d wish to immediately re-do unless it looked quiet – it is a victim of its success, location and tiny size. As noted below, there’s no ticket barriers at Donny so you can go in and out of the station to visit.

Located on Platform 3b. Supposed to be open but they called time at 1.15 on a Sunday afternoon?? Which meant it was take-out only, which I politely declined.

Just a quick pint, then I'm off left this review about The Draughtsman Alehouse
Former station buffet housed in a small square room with attractive tiling on the lower third of the side walls and a compact counter at the far end. Cleverly named, best appreciated with the landlord glimpsing at the engineering drawings of steam engines as he pours your pint. Also has a small 'outdoor' area under the Platform 3b canopy, although you will need a plastic 'glass' if you plan to sit out there. Had a few minutes waiting for a train, so popped in to find a Thornbridge tap takeover on the three handpumps on this latest visit: Brother Rabbit, Krushd and the Strong Dark Mild collaboration with Garrett Oliver (£2.55, half). Always worth a visit if changing trains at Doncaster.
