I thought this was a lot more sophisticated than your average family-friendly newbuild pub, but that is reflected in the prices. Most of it is pretty much a restaurant, but I felt comfortable enough in the bar. Certainly not pubby though, but the decor is well done. McMullens IPA and AK available plus their seasonal Rivertown Citra. Friendly and effective staff. fine for what it is, middle class pub-themed food venue. The golf operation is now up and running.

A new build pub from Mc Mullens which in time will incorporate a golf centre,so it's very family orientated. The entrance leads to a drinking area to the right with a mix of leather bench seating, comfy chairs and high tables with a real fireplace. To the left is a substantial wait to be seated dining area which winds behind the bar. There is a rustic design theme, but the wooden clad bar just feels very new and antiseptic.Outside a terrace extends around the building, although every table in numbered so dont expect to avoid those who are eating. The menu looks like pub grub at a premium price.
The bar has 4 handpumps serving tied beers only namely Country Bitter,IPA,King's Mead and "Rivertown" Defiant masquerading as a guest.6 keg taps offer national brands and another Rivertown "guest",beware.
All too dull and boring for me to warrant another trip,it's clean and functional but lacks a genuine pub atmosphere.
