Moby Duck left this review about The Barrel Store

It's basicaly a large breeze block shed with bench seating inside and out with finery about it at all, there was some music playing though not to my liking. At one end is a small pizza kitchen also the bar which has twelve taps. The beer here though is very good and as such the venue gets a decent score for me.

Aqualung . left this review about Wild Card Brewery Taproom

Revised opening hours are Fri 17:00-midnight, Sat 11:00-Midnight and Sun 11:00-22:00

Visit 09/08/2014

Things have moved on since the Spring and they now have three of their own beers brewed on site, Jack of Clubs, Queen of Diamonds and Pale Ale. There is also a proper cooled cellar and four handpumps. On my visit there were the three Wild Card beers (£3.30) and Hackney American Pale Ale (£3.70).
I was told that the Pale and a Mild to come was just for the Taproom and "trusted" venues. The Pale and Queen of Diamonds were in excellent nick but the Hackney beer I thought had an odd taste that may be down to the hops used or something else. The Queen of Diamonds sailed through the three pint test.

Although the brewery isn't actually running yet they now have the paperwork from Customs and Excise, so the first brew in Walthamstow should commence in the next week or two.

There are two ways of finding this place, the easiest is probably the W16 Addison Road bus stops. Just North of Addison road is a an unnamed roadway with black iron gates that leads into a small industrial estate. Follow this round and the Wild Card site is at the end on the left. Tne alternative is to go down Summit Road just South of the Nag's Head and go to the end where there is an entrance to the small industrial estate and you will see the brewery on the right. The W12 bus also runs very close by.

Inside there is a small makeshift bar with barrels being served by gravity and a fridge with their own Jack of Clubs and other local brewery bottles. There is a small selection of wines, spirits and soft drinks. I've tried the two Wild Card beers (Jack of Clubs red ale and Queen of Diamonds IPA), Redemption Big Chief and Five Points Pale all of which have been superb.
All cask beers are £3.30.
The fittings consist of a log stove, an assortment of wooden chairs, the odd table and an upholstered bench seat. The best feature for me was the makeshift tables which consisted of two upturned cable drums and one made from placing a forklift pallet on top of four beer casks, Antic eat your heart out.
There is no food but they do have an arrangement with a Chips and Dips firm who have a trailer outside.
It's dog and children friendly and could be made disabled accessible by simply having a ramp across the door entrance.

I really like this place, but it won't suit everyone. There seemed to have been a decent crowd here on all of my three visits. I can see problems in the future with the beer and venue if the weather gets really hot or really cold, but I'm sure they will find answers.

Bucking Fastard left this review about Wild Card Brewery Taproom

A classic brewery tap right next to the brew kit in an industrial shed marked as Colin Chapman & Sons,Steel Fabricators.Initially we walked straight past until a young lady cleaning the external pic nic tables told us to push the big metal door under a sign saying "Bar".The door opened into a large windowless space with the rugby being aired on a drop down screen A few rough benches and old pub furniture were dotted about .We got a friendly welcome from some locals and were told that opening hours are now 5pm on Fridays , 10am on Saturdays and 11am on Sundays;others days it's closed.
The small bar was serving three house beers,Ace of Spades,Jack of Clubs and a good Queen of Diamonds IPA while a guest Pale Ale (failed to note brewery) completed the range. This is the place to sample and tick off Wild Card ales, but given the austere interior I cant imaging spending a whole evening in here. However a good double header with the nearby Nags Head if up in Walthamstow Village and seeking decent ale.
