An impressive building containing a lounge style bar, a restaurant, a function suite and a beer garden at the side. The bar is comfortable and spacious, although the mirrored walls and glass doors create the illusion of being bigger than it actually is. As the only pub in the village, it is extremely popular and was very busy on the Saturday evening of my visit. A pint of Tennent’s lager cost me £3.20 and Carlsberg lager, Cobra lager, Caledonia Best, Guinness and Orchard Dawn cider are also on draught.

Built in 1601 the Kirkhouse Inn is an iconic landmark in the peaceful parish of Strathblane. Having served many purposes over the years, from using the now demolished stables as a temporary schoolhouse through to offering welcome relief and hospitality after long sermons the Kirkhouse Inn has been at the centre of the community for centuries. Often the scene of scandals, the Kirkhouse Inn has been home to religious rebellion, hidden fortunes and many buried secrets! These days you'll find the Kirkhouse Inn is home to good food, friendly service and a warm, welcoming atmosphere where you can enjoy a quiet lunch, superb dinner or just stop in for a coffee. Just half an hour from Glasgow and Stirling the Kirkhouse Inn is the perfect choice for exploring central Scotland. Whether you're looking to relax and unwind in our coffee shop, restaurant and lounge, discover the intricacies of whisky making at the nearby Glengoyne distillery, experience the thrill of Falconry or just explore the amazing Scottish contryside
