huge chain pub in the tourist centre of Southport. from outside it looks like a typical anonymous chain pub and inside is much the same, however it serves real ale and is fairly well run. If you want a pleasant pint in unchallenging surroundings it’s okay, though the food smell and kids during school holidays can be distracting.

A newish build Marston's pub right on the seafront. It specialises in carveries along with a menu full of pub staples. This means that on a Tuesday, early afternoon, it was full of pensioners attracted by the carvery only being £5.95 at lunchtimes. It's a pleasant enough pub if a bit anonymous. The beer selection is pedestrian. especially if you're not a great fan of Marston's family of beers like me. My pint of Wainwright was in decent nick though and it served it's purpose which was to wait somewhere until we could check into the nearby Premier Inn.

Good pub situated on the front. Family oriented so expect mummies little darlings to be annoying at times. Well worth a visit nonetheless.
