This is a small shop conversion just a few doors away from Highams Park Station. It's debatable whether it is a wine bar or a pub, maybe just a bar would be the best description. I am reliably informed that it sells draught Belgian and German beers along with various bottled beers.
The name comes from the listed Signal Box on the level crossing nearby. It was formerly known as Birdy's Bar.
Although not cheap it is the only hostelry in the immediate area other than the County Arms, the more traditional pubs being a good walk or bus ride away.
The Indian a couple of doors away has a good reputation.
