The Cricket Players was an estate pub that was built when the notorious Hyson Green flats were built in the 60s,the deck access flats have long gone but the tower block is still there along with a dire looking ex pub now.
Once inside there was a long corridor which lead to a lounge type room to the rear, when me and my mate did this pub it was full of rastas who did'nt seem that happy that we were going into their pub,but we went in anyway.
The pub was a Shipstones tied house, ime pretty sure the Shipstones bitter was in keg form.
This was a pretty rough pub back in the early 80s,not one for the faint hearted.
