You enter up a couple of steps to the eye watering stink of disinfectant. A typical fake Oirish bar. There's half a dozen total scallies fffffing at each other. You think twice but have a half of Carling for just £1.30 during happy hour. 5 minutes later you're back on the street thinking well at least I never have to go there again. It's awful.

The Glass Onion seems to be staying put as previous attempts at putting a bar here all seem to fail, so the onion must be doing something right. The interior is small with the bar facing you over on the right. There is two handpumps, with a regular JW Lees bitter on and that's about it. The pub does have a good atmosphere and doesn't attract any trouble makers.

A tiny star in a busy city centre universe, however great prices , cheerful staff, and enough tv's to watch a match or race wherever you are seated/standing,
