Alan Winfield left this review about Old Corner Pin
The Old Corner Pin was a small Home Ales house that was situated in a very busy area on the corner of clumber street and upper parliament street.
Once inside there was an L shaped room that was carpeted and had comfortable seating, this room was more like a lounge.
The pub was an Home Ales tied house and there were two real ales on the bar we usually had a drink of Home bitter in here which was a decent drink.
The pub would only serve drinks in half pint glasses so whenever me and the wife came in here we always asked for 2 pints of bitter and the reply was always the same we dont serve pints here so we then asked for 4 halfs of bitter,it was simple things like this that amused us.
With this pub being in the main shopping area the pressure to turn it into retail space finally happened in the late 90s and the pub became a disney store which was called Disney at the Old Corner Pin.
All signs of this pub have now been taken down and the pub is now a miss selfridge store.
What a waste of a decent pub.
