The Bumpkin is a pretty ordinary looking pub.
This one was'nt on my list to do but when i saw it i had to go in.
Once inside there is a decent sized L shaped room with the bar to the front right,there is some comfy bench seating and chairs in the front area,the rear area has normal tables and chairs and and open kitchen.
There are no real ales on the bar,there were a few so called craft keg beers on,i had a drink of Whitstable Bay Pale Ale which was cold,this cost me £2.50 for a half,the most expensive half of bitter i have ever drunk,there were other craft crap beers on the bar i failed to note as i picking myself up from the floor after paying all that money for a cold crap half.
Background music was playing.
It was a big mistake of mine in doing this pub.

This used to be a Courage pub called the Denmark. Now it's a fearsomely pretentious restaurant with bar which attempts to replicate the sort of place where people called Dave and Rebekah enjoy their weekend country suppers in the Cotswolds, so all done out in faux rustic farmhouse kitchen style, with mainly organic British produced food. Surprisingly the bar area to the front remains vaguely pub like, not that the long departed regulars of the Denmark would ever recognise it as such. In any case it's the usual bare boards gastro arrangement but there's no problem just having a drink here. You'd think, given the emphasis on quality British produce, that they'd be well into real ale, but the best they can manage is rebadged Shepherd Neame keg at an ambitious £4 a pint. If you decide to dine in the restaurant you'll need a few of those before you can convince yourself that £18 for shepherd's pie is good value.
If you're passing or on a crawl you might stop for a quick one, but if you want a decent drink there are a couple of far better options within a couple of hundred yards. Like everywhere round here it fills up with made in Chelsea types in the evening, for whom it is entirely suited.
