West End has changed its name. It has reopened as The Ladz bar & restaurant. It serves flame grilled and peri peri dishes.

Consisting of a separate bar and lounge, the latter of which is available for private functions, the West End is an unpretentious but decent enough local. A good draught selection includes McEwan’s 70 Shilling, Export and lager, Tartan Special, John Smith’s bitter, Fosters and Kronenburg lagers, Guinness and Strongbow cider. There are Quiz nights every Wednesday, Open Mic nights every Thursday as well as a games machine and juke box. Unusually, the bar still has a cigarette machine, although you have to go out on to the pavement to smoke them.
