The Square is a large pub that is situated at the bottom end of micklegate.
Once inside there is a large oblong shaped room which runs the width of the pub,the bar faces on entry,the room is carpeted,the seating bucket chairs and tables,there is a another area to the right which has bench seating.
There were no real ales on the bar,i had a drink of Worthington smooth cream crap or whatever it is called,this was a poor drink but probably better that the other option of John Smiths smooth crap.
There were a few TVs on showing sky sports.
The pub was almost empty on my Saturday dinner visit,but probably gets busier in the evenings with younger drinkers.
