A large opened out pub on the market square, aimed at shoppers who do lunch. Different areas are defined by changes of level, railings and partitions. There are five hand pumps, with Greene King IPA and Abbot, but the Old Speckled Hen pump clip was turned around. The staff were overworked but friendly and efficient enough. My half of GK IPA was very cheap at only £1.05, but it was poor quality and I wouldn't come back unless this was the last pub in Ilson and I only had £1.05 left in the whole world.

This a large corner GK pub with a comfortable interior with a good few different drinking areas. The pub seemed to attract more diners than drinkers. There were three handpumps, with only one in use serving up Speckled Hen.

The Sir John Warren is a large stand alone pub.
I first went in this pub in the early 80s when it had two rooms and it was a Kimberley tied house.
Things have changed a lot since then the pub has been opened out into a very large room which has lots of different drinking areas, the pub is quite smart with normal type seating and it gets very busy at most times of the day.
This pub is now a Greene King tied house and there are usually three real ales on here from the GK stable,if i have a drink here it is usually GK brewed Olde Trip which is drinkable but not as good as when Kimberley brewed it.
I prefered this pub before it was altered and the photo was taken when the pub was still a Kimberley house and unaltered.
