The Stump & Candle is an L-shaped Craft Union pub with a central L-shaped serving counter that supports standard and premium keg alongside two hand pumps, one of which was in operation drawing St Austell’s Proper Job. There’s a dartboard on the rear wall and muted racing TV was on the televisions throughout while some random background music played. I expect there’s a jukebox somewhere because nobody has ‘Do The Bartman’ on their playlist. I didn’t witness anything here that will have me rushing back.

Close to The Stump and overlooking the Market Place, this pub was much better than I expected. The L shaped interior is carpeted throughout and has had a decent modern refurb leaving a tidy interior and a mix of furniture with high tables near the bar, bench seating further along and a section nearer the loos with comfy chairs. There are 4 flatscreens dotted about which will play all sports channels but thankfully they were mute on my lunchtime visit. The muzak was a little loud but just the right side of bearable.
Polite and helpful service with Doom Bar and TT Landlord (NBSS 3.5) and value at £2.56 the pint.Food served but we were just in for ale.
Boston has a lot of awful pubs but this isn't one of them.It would be a very good place to catch televised sport.

Inverted L-shaped room which extends to the rear where the toilets are. Bar to the front and right side with two weak real ales. The rest standard keg rubbish, so nothing to write home about.
