Quite a while since last review here. Wasn’t my next intended venue but I spotted in passing the music was turned right down so attractive compared to the last venue. Also needed to do a call so it fitted the requirements perfectly! It is a single room bar with the bar on the left-hand wall. Some blue velvet banquettes around the right-hand wall with small round tables and low stools dotted around the place. Three TV’s adorned the walls all again showing Olympics in vision only. A small snug in the back left corner was unoccupied this afternoon although there were a few punters in.
No cask here. Mostly lager focussed (K1664, Grolsch, Fosters, Carling, Red Stripe) plus Guinness, John Smiths and couple of ciders (Stowford Press and Cornish Orchards).
Not a leading light of the Brighton pub and bar scene but a perfectly pleasant location to have a relatively quiet quaff on a late afternoon!

The Zone is a small corner shop converted bar with floor to ceiling windows allowing all passers-by to gawp in. There is something happening every evening of the week including cabaret nights at the weekends, Karaoke on Sundays and Thursdays and a disco on Mondays. My visit was on Wednesday evening which coincided with reggae night. The music was loud and the bar not very busy, but this didn’t stop the enthusiastic DJ from jumping around in his Rastafarian robes. The bar is stocked with some standard draught and there is a large selection of shorts.
To be honest it all felt a bit amateur and some of the people present were a bit scummy. I will walk past next time I’m in the area.
