E TA left this review about Danny's
Opened in June 2025, this was previously Danny’s and Conran’s. Jimmy Goose’s is a narrow two-storey pub which doesn’t currently serve cask ale or real cider. The bar is on the ground floor, right in front of you as you enter. This bar has several sofas and a few bar stools, and there is an industrial coffee machine behind the counter. Decor is a bit Bohemian, green painted brickwork, but it feels fresh and new in a good way. Upstairs is open and airy, and it has tables and chairs. No food menus were available when we visited, but they did say they do a brunch at weekends. They host karaoke and quiz nights and are aimed at the cocktail crowd. There is indeed an extensive cocktail menu as well as a rather ordinary wine list at high prices. No cask ale or real cider, so the choices were between Inch’s Cider, Neck Oil, Amstel, Harbourside, Cruzcampo, Guinness, Jubel and Peroni. It’s a pleasant enough bar, and the staff were certainly welcoming, but the drinks choices mean it won’t be a regular haunt for me.

Formerly an Irish bar called Conran’s, Danny’s is a revamped place that claims to be a ‘craft’ bar, but on closer inspection the selection was probably made by Danny Dyer. A single bland room over two separate areas separated by a central staircase (leading up to another, unexplored, room) and finished off with loud music of the Kangol hat / Kiss FM variety, just like the customers. Two ale pumps with Sharps Doom Bar and a stale Hop Back Summer Lightning. Perhaps this is where people from the Cathedral Hotel graduate after reaching the appropriate points total, like a Salisbury Scientologist.

Now Danny's Bar and Kitchen, this bar caters for "craft keg" and real ale drinkers. Well worth a visit.
