Alan, i suggest you re-visit the Duke for a review update as there has recently been a change of management and a change of image.

The Duke of Clarence is a small pub that used to be a Shipstones tied house.
This pub is on carlton road but its address is clarence street.
Once inside here the pub is quite small the bar is to the left there are no real ales on here and there has'nt been for years so your choice here is cold fizzy beers like john Smiths smooth.
This pub did have a period years ago of having topless barmaids working behind the bar but this has now stopped.
This is a very basic locals pub.
