Now renamed Beckside Bar, with a touch of irony in the name, as at the time of the December 2015 floods the beck would have been pretty much in the bar. A very good job has been done of cleaning up and repairing the whole village, and the entrance, the steps down to the bar and the bar itself all look very smart.

There's a bar counter on the left when arriving at the lower level, and this features five hand pumps, three with beers from Marstons (Jennings Cumberland and Via Ferrata, plus Rat Race: "crafted by the brewers of Wainwright Golden Beer"), and two from local Tirril Brewery. I had the Tirril Borrowdale Bitter, which was in good condition but nothing special. This place has the feel of a sports bar, with TVs for showing live sports and a pool table with a black cloth, but there is also a beer garden beside the beck for those sunny days in the Lakes.
