Still a cosy quirky pub but the real ale has gone… feels like a real misstep for a pub like this. Like much of Mr Callaghans pub group, it has fallen from grace a bit and lost its appeal.

Fifteens at Swinley has a bar along the left wall that supports standard and premium keg alongside two handpumps. During a recent Monday evening visit one was off and Wigan Brewhouse’s Dry Bones was available from the second. Raised seating is found in the windows either side of the entrance and at the rear is a pool table and dartboard. Televisions are found throughout, Liverpool v Palace was muted on Sky Sports whilst some background music played. The walls are adorned with lots of paintings, prints and old black and white photos. The service was very polite and I could tell that the Dry Bones is a good beer, but it could have been served better.

This is a nice looking pub with the unusual feature of 2 red telephone boxes at the front. It's all one medium sized room with loads of pictures around the walls. There's plenty of eclectic furniture and a small raised area to one side. It has letting rooms and would be convenient for central Wigan, but judging by the boisterour clientele it may not be that quiet. 4 handpumps on the bar with just the 2 on. My pint of Hophurst Mellors was just about OK, but not very well kept. As I've said elsewhere, this small chain needs some training in how to keep good beer. None of their pubs seem to be capable of it.
