The George has a lovely setting next to the village cricket pitch and with a car park overlooking the Arun Valley. However, I got the feeling that food is the main focus here. We managed to occupy a couple of sofas next to the bar with what I think was the only table not made out for diners.
Harvey's Sussex Best Bitter is the regular cask ale. For our visit, the guest was Lost Pier Snitches Get Stitches. Hepworth Sussex Premium APA was on keg, along with Cowfold Silly Moo cider.
I loved the out of the way location of this village pub, but felt that it had lost whatever character it once had in its interior.
