An interesting and decent place and much much better than its previous incarnation as Slinky's Cafe Bar. The bar area to the front gives way to a rear room. 12 taps along the wall for various crafty ales plus 3 taps for real ale, these are the end 3 to the left. Real ale beers were Thornbridge Peverel, Salopian Dead Drop and Marble Tuckerlovsy. As noted, there is a bottle shop next door with a large selection of bottled beers. There are also 4 more taps on the wall here too. Much brighter than previous place and I liked it.

Real Ale Ray left this review about Slinky's
Renamed and refurbished and is now known as the Homebrew Tap, which opened in April. This new bar is part of the bottle shop next door, and they also have another outlet in Oxton, which is also named the Homebrew Tap. The interior was very streamlined and modern in décor, with the bar area situated on the right of entrance. The bar had a formica worktop and pine lathes across the bar front. All their beers were dispensed from taps housed on a stainless plate found across the original undressed brick feature wall, behind the bar. The young barman was friendly and helpful and explained that their cask ales were served form the three slightly larger taps on the left hand side, and that the rest were all craft beers, 12 of them in all. I went for the Salopian Symphony, which was in good shape. This is a two roomed bar with the cellar next to the bar area, which had a viewing window for added interest.
