A Hall & Woodhouse eatery constructed in and around various old farm buildings, although the main area is in a purpose-built 'barn' made from recycled materials so you can't really tell if you are in an old bit or a new bit. The furniture is also recycled dining room stuff and the decor is largely 'buy by the yard' pictures, books etc. All pleasant enough but quite boring. The front area is a bit more publike though and better for drinkers, as is the large outdoor area. Three handpumps serve their own beers, which should have been Badger Best, Fursty Ferret and Tanglefoot but they were all off. The food also proved to be quite disappointing, with various items not available and those that were not being not great. Potentially an eatery that is ok for a pint, but they need to get their act together if they want a better score.

A converted farmhouse run by Hall & Woodhouse. Huge inside, with lots of character and sympathetic conversion features eg exposed brick, beams etc. Lots of internal fauna, the big palm tree especially caught my attention – sounds odd but it works. Some nice exterior seating too. The place is mainly aimed at hardcore diners though utilizing the place for a pint wasn’t an issue. Three ales on from the H&W stable, my Tanglefoot was in particularly good shape, if somewhat pricey. If you’re in Bracknell, this is worth seeking out if you can stand the walk.
