A tiny lounge-type pub with just the one posh room but with steep prices even for Richmond. Doom Bar, Tribute and Wainwright were on handpump. To his credit the barman refused to serve me the latter after he pulled it and we both agreed it definitely wasn't right; pleased to see he also took it off sale, which is no way guaranteed nowadays. Friendly enough, but I wouldn't make a habit of visiting.

I've certainly been in bigger micropubs, this really is a diminutive and long standing pub.New leasees have made some alterations, mostly positive. The furnture in the bar room is modern, and wall decoration is quite minimalist apart from a lot of Brentford FC ephemera. There is a roped off starcase to the first floor, but I don't know if this is part of the pub offering. The narrow corridor to the loos is also the route to a small walled beer garden, partially covered and with a large jumberella giving protection again heavy rain plus wall mouted space heaters.I found this area charming and work has been done here.
There are also a series of bench seats opposite the pub across the road and in good weather a lot of customers will gather here. It's a wet led pub, offers crisps but you can bring your own food to consume from the many food outlets close by.The landlady is very friendly and helpful, the pub is dog friendly and welcoming. The whole pub,(or parts) can be hired for events.
There are three handpumps with a chalk board describing two beers of the week Purity Mad Goose and Marston's Wainwright but on my visit only the Wainwright was available (NBSS 3) .
Small and charming, the beer range will be constrained by it's pubco ownership.Worth popping in however.

As previously noted, a very tiny and compact front room pub,None the worse for that though, it had a nice local ambiance and warmth inside as the temperature began to dip outside. The three beers on were of a pedestrian nature, Doom Bar , Young's Bitter and Thwaites Wainwright , the latter being in pretty good condition. It struck me as a nice place to stop for a pint.
