Blue Scrumpy left this review about Golden Lion
The Golden Lion was one of 3 pubs in the village of Llandyrnog that have all been in the Good Beer Guide within the last 10-15 years. It is now the sole remaining pub in the village and the only real ale available was Doom Bar. The barmaid assured me that it was good quality, but I declined the offer to try it. There is no longer any real cider either.
Despite this being the only open pub, just 2 customers were present in the front bar, with a second room empty. The barmaid mentioned just how quiet it had been. Whilst Covid has certainly hit the pub trade hard, I had not witnessed anything as bad as this until visiting this village.
