Will Larter left this review about The George & Dragon Inn
This old building has turned its back on the village, in relation to which it stands like a sentinel by a gateway, to the extent that entry is now from the car park that stretches along the road towards the petrol station and convenience store. Ivy growing up the walls has barely been kept in check, and the inn sign is partly obscured. Inside is a dimly lit pair of rooms with the bar in the corner of the nearer one. A fish tank provides a divider between the two rooms, both of which are set up for dining, though there is an area for drinkers near the bar. The bar itself is a handsome one in dark wood, with hooks and stools. The walls are adorned with sketched portraits of past customers, all locals, some of whom the landlord told me are now sadly no longer with us. There are five hand pumps on the bar, with four beers on at the time of my visit. (See photo.) I went for a half of Black Sheep Bitter, which came in at a reasonable £1.65, considering I'd been charged £2.00 for the same drink at East Witton an hour before. According to my rule of thumb (see my review of the Blue Lion) this should have made this a much better drink than the preceding one; it was. A proper pub, this one.

Although not on our Inn Way route - we added this one into our days walking, as one was closed earlier.
What a result - a beautiful pub - smell of home cooked food, roaring fire and black sheep in top order.
Glad we came.
