Small pub/bar looks like converted from a shop. Very friendly place. Both staff (Mel) and customers make you feel like you are a regular, even if it is your first visit. Guinness poured to perfection.A must visit if you are in the area.

They don’t do any real ale here, just some standard lagers and Guinness. I had a half of Grolsch. I popped in here because they advertised toasted sarnies at £2.50 a go, and I was feeling peckish. There was no choice, the sarny on offer was cheese & ham, but that was fine by me. It seems to brand itself as an Irish bar, with the old, and rather nice, advert for Guinness, and the green racing jerseys on the wall behind the bar. It’s a narrow fronted high street bar, which looks as if it might be a converted shop, and thus is a longish thin room. The bar counter is on the right; it’s bare boarded, and the seating is mainly on the left and consists of banquettes, small stools, with some solid metal framed tables. There’s a small smoking area at the back.
It is clearly a child-friendly bar, as there was a family group with a couple of young children sitting next to me playing cards, the adults drinking lager, and fiddling with some noisy and irritating hand held electronic devices. There are probably better ways to spend a family day out, but everyone to their own. I very much doubt whether I’ll have any reason to visit again.
