This is a roadside pub on the A30 between Crewkerne and Chard in a small collection of houses called Roundham. The position means it is solely dependant on passing trade and from the look of it most trade does just that - passes by.
Entry via the door facing the car park we instantly detected that all pervading odour of wet dog. Not a good start. Into the very dimly lit bar area where there was a warm welcome from the landlady and his wife. One real ale, a 3.8% rebadged Travellers Rest brown bitter. I tried my hardest to enjoy this beer but it tasted weak and thin and didn't have much alcoholic content. At least there was a warm coal fire (in the midst of July) to warm us up. One of the group had a half of Tetleys Creamflow, more like sarsons Vinegar. I know keg beers need looking after as well with line cleaning etc but I hadn't tasted a keg bitter this foul ever. The pub merits a 3 as I felt genuinely sorry for the folk running it. Seems to be a bit of a hobby / old fashioned front parlour style pub. Can't see this staying open for much longer.

On the A30 road out of Crewkerne towards Chard - the car park looks a bit like a scrap yard and the interior of the pub reminded me of a large shed converted to a transport cafe. It is, shall we say, a bit grubby. I had a very quick pint which was only just so-so and quickly left. Well below average and I'm surprised it's still open.
