The pub I was most looking forward to doing again in Worcester and by happy coincidence I picked a time for the stag do to appear whilst a chunk of the regulars were at a local beer festival, so it was a bit more quiet and relaxed than a usual Friday night. This worked well, as the friendly landlady popped over and chatted to us. The cask was fine form, with pints of Mighty Oak Old Man & The Sea (NBSS 4.5) and Ledbury Bitter (4) slipping down way too easily and easily justifying its GBG'24 inclusion. My favourite in Worcester and the groom agreed, as he demanded to stay for a second! A real gem; I think I’m going for a full 10.

A quick end-of-night visit as it serves until half 11 on a Saturday. Still excellent and I had a first-class pint of Hobsons Bitter. A top, top pub with some interesting characters including a 6ft transvestite and their elderly mother knocking pints back. Brilliant. 9.5

A fleeting visit found six well-selected ales and two proper ciders. Interior and ambience remain unchanged, still a terrific little boozer. My half of Malvern Hills MHB was in good form. A place you should do without hesitation.

A multi-roomed public house with the bar situated up a few steps on entering which is unusual. Two rooms lead off here, fairly small and cosy and both have real fires. The sage green interior is reminiscent of a bygone age, the 1950’s perhaps. Six ales and two ciders available, with a heavy slant to local micros which also results in some fairly cheap prices too. Lagers are on a porcelain font and there’s also an impressive array of single malt whiskies. My Hobson's Mild was excellent and my other drinkers all commented on the high quality of the pub’s brews. This is a friendly and welcoming place with an eclectic mix of customers. Rear patio allows for a decent view of the nearby cathedral. Filled rolls available at the bar. Certainly it’s one of the best pubs in the area and jockeys with the Dragon for the ‘best in Worcester’ title. A must-visit. Rated 9

The previous review describes this friendly pub very well. Whilst in the city centre, it's sufficiently off the beaten track to ensure it doesn't get overcrowded.
The friendly bar staff took our contact details and found us seats in the bar to the right as you enter.
Hobson's Best is the regular ale. Guests were Salopian Oracle & The Bends & Beowulf Dragon Smoke. Hogan's Cider & Barbourne 1066 were the 2 real ciders.
Certainly one of Worcester's best pubs.

This was my favorite pub on our short visit to Worcester , the bar is up some stairs from the entrance with a room either side , the room on the right leads to the small beer garden and outside toilets , there is a small standing only area at the bar front , home to the chatty , friendly and eccentric locals who made us feel very welcome .
Beers on the 5 handpulls were Backyard East India , Hobsons Best , Maldon Mighty Oak , Maldon Gold and Malvern Green Pear which was lovely .
We only intended to stay for a quick pint but the rainy night and warm friendly welcome meant we wobbled out several hours later .
