Nice cosy bar with a couple of fires going and a very warm feel, the rest of the pub is largely devoted to dining. Food is traditional and vast portions, ale selection wasn’t the most varied but the Ulverston Celebration ale went down well. Extremely friendly staff.

Lovely olde world stylee pub inside. L-shaped with 5 handpulls dispensing a good schoice of beers. Surprisingly, like all pubs in Ulverston it wasn't as submerged I Laurel and Hardy memorabilia as I thought it would be. A really nice pub.

The Stan Laurel has not fully re-opened since lockdown. It is only currently open for diners and for take-outs.
We elected to eat here, so that I could visit. Meals were fairly ordinary, but they did still have a couple of ales on - Ulverston Celebration Ale & Thwaite's Wainwright.
The pub is much larger than I expected, with 3 rooms. The room you enter into was empty and could easily have held a dozen or so drinkers with social distancing. I'm sure the pub will re-open for drinkers soon.
