Large pub which was busy with plenty locals in. No ale so a quick lager before moving on.

Just a quick pint, then I'm off left this review about Grant Arms
Quite an impressive-looking building, originally constructed by Mitchells & Butlers by the look of the detailing at the top of the façade, and set back from the main-road building line by a car park. Unfortunately, the whole place has seen better days inside, with only one of the two bars seemingly in general use. This has a 'L'-shaped layout, with a limited amount of basic decor, several TVs and a few pictures about the walls plus a pool table at the back. No real ale of course, so a quick pint of Tetley Smooth (£2.80).

This is a detached 1930s pub, with patio area. It was built over former houses to proived a boozer after the rapid expansion of the area over the previous 20 years or so. It is in undressed brick, 17th century in style, with central bay widows, pedimented doors on the wings and a dormered hipped roof. The central M&B crest is worth a look. The interior has a couple of rooms, but we only saw the bar room. This is a L-shaped room that has a touch of an empty feel about it. It has both darts and pool and there was a TV showing footy. The decor is white and black walls and i am not sure if it is a biker pub, but there was a touching tribute to a former regulars and a couple of bikers were in - and friendly too! The service was fine. Strangely, a few bisto pictures are on the walls. The music was general and at a decent level. Beer; no real ale, just the usual taps, so i had a decent enough Guinness. I found this a pleasant enough place - just lacks the real ale for my personal taste.
