Will Larter left this review about Boot And Shoe Inn
Attractive whitewashed building in this quiet village on the outskirts of the Lake District which serves as a village local with half an eye on the tourist trade too. It's pleasant inside, with black and red tiles on the floor. On the bar are three hand pumps with Black Sheep Bitter, ex-Thwaites Lancaster Bomber and Lancaster Blonde. I stopped for a half as I was cycling this way from Alston to Ullswater and this is a much pleasanter way to come than on the busy A66. It made a very welcome stop, but I don't think I would make the effort to come here otherwise.
