This roadside inn has been heavily rebuilt and modernised almost to extreme. Lots of designer furnishing and arty touches (toilets worth a visit!) gives light, bright upmarket modern feel, slightly more cosy in the older parts which are given over to restaurant. Nicely kept gardens and a large outside covered area also, as well as accommodation. Three ales from local breweries were available and extremely drinkable. But it is the food which is the main draw - not cheap but excellent and very well presented. Far from a traditional local but extremely pleasant.
