Three hand pumps but only one dispensing, no big surprise it was Brains Best Bitter. Keg was otherwise usual Brains pub offering of Thatchers Gold, B&C Old Mount cider, Peroni, Barry Island Pale Ale, San Miguel, Guinness, and Neck Oil.
Cosy pub. Bar counter ahead of you as you walk through front door. Lovely roaring fire in a large stone fire grate on right-hand wall. Tables packed in but very cosy. TV on wall opposite fire but switched off. Central pillar with dining area other side, again tables packed in with fire grate on left-hand wall that side but wasn’t lit. Garden out the back but out of bounds on a wet and miserable late November Saturday lunchtime. Cask beer offering was disappointing, but this was a more charming venue than its near neighbour in Bonvilston.
