Three hand pumps revealed one not used, one offering Doom Bar and one offering Henry Weston's cider. The keg options were Pravha, Madri, Estrella, Peroni, Asahi, Tiny Rebel Cali Pale, Neck Oil, Aspall cider and Guinness.
This is a rather imposing roadside pub in the tiny hamlet of St Fagans opposite the Welsh folk museum. It is pretty classy inside and I would say, for the most part, set up for diners. The bar counter is along the right-hand wall in the front part of the venue with a large, tiled surround. The entrance is bare boarded. The bar area consists of some tan coloured leather wingback armchairs in the window around a fire grate and a TV above it. There is a banquette opposite the bar counter and a couple of tables with turquoise fabric. I perched on the tall table opposite the far end of the bar counter. The area to the left of the entrance was bare boards in the front part and carpeted in the rear part, with regular tables and chairs all laid for diners. A curtained off area in this part also housed a private dining table. Beyond the bar counter is a flagstone floor leading out into the rear beer garden which looked very pleasant on a sunny late afternoon. A couple of the same leather wing back chairs occupied the space under the stairs in this area and opposite to the right was another large dining area, carpeted with a fire roaring away in the grate on the far wall. After a failed trip to the Vulcan Hotel in the Welsh folk museum based on being incorrectly advised when calling to check as to its opening hours, I was happy to decompress here for 30 mins with a decent pint of Guinness. Saying that probably not one to trek here especially for as it is clearly very food led.
