Went for lunch today only to discover that the specials for which this Inn is rightly famous have disappeared. The food is still good quality, but just so predictable. Unless it reverts to its former offerings it may struggle to survive.
Arriving at 1.00pm on a Saturday, the car park had only 6 cars and getting a table for two was just so easy. The staff are also clearly worried as they are used to coping with a full restaurant area and it seems they are losing customers hand over fist.
My wife and I won't be returning until the specials menu is reinstated. We hope for some common sense from the company that owns the pub who seem to completely misjudge its clientele and potential.

This is undoubtedly the best pub for miles. Great service. Great food. A wonderful assortment of good ales. Good parking.
A brisk 40 minute walk from Caerphilly and Lisvane leads to a very large beer garden where a meal and drink on a balmy summer evening does wonders for the soul.
In the cold winter evenings there are real fires and truly cosy atmosphere.
Highly recommended.

Great pub, great food, great prices, up until now, but they don't have specials any more, so our last meal there wasn't so great. It will be a shame if this great pub becomes a run of the mill chain. Its specials made it a bit special and it would be a crime to take them away.
