A dreadful modern looking pub on the outside rear and inside, in spite of a fairly decent if boring front elevation. Inside it’s split down the middle three quarters of the way towards the back, booths with integral screens to one side, higher tables and chairs on a raised area to the other, big vertical drinking space in front of the counter. but don’t worry there are plenty other screens about. A full width area with seating lurks at the back of the building. The counter is off to the right if you come in from Market Street, a saving grace is the presence of six pulls with a weird collection of beer; London Pride, Wainwright Amber, Rev James, Hobgoblin Gold and two decent beers from Milestone but average quality. A couple of T-Bars serve the unusual mix of Guinness, lagers and ciders. It has a dart board.

The Hereward is a Smith&Jones pub in the middle of Ely.
There was one large room inside in the usuall S&J style with tall tables and chairs in the middle of the room and more comfortable seating at the front and around the sides.
There were three real ales on here and we had a drink of Archers Village and this was quite a nice drink the other beers were Adnams broadside and GK IPA.
These sort of pubs are ok if you want a drink of real ale and something to eat.
