My notes appear to have gone walkabout. So to be brief – a three roomed old fashioned character pub, lounge to the right (empty) and to the left (busy) with a very chilly sports room with darts and pool behind that. Barometers and toby jugs everywhere. Untappd tells me that I had a pair of Xmas beers from St Ives and St Austell, one of which I said was ‘close to an NBSS 5’ as well as a Sandford Orchards cider; it’s a GBG staple and a former CAMRA National Pub of the Year winner. There were also a couple of house beers brewed by Sharps (rebadges or genuine uniques, I don’t know). I recall the farmer’s daughter-looking barmaid to be good fun and that I thoroughly enjoyed my stay.

Lovely village pub with half a dozen beers on: Citra from Robinsons, Thornbridge Jaipur and four brewed in Cornwall, three of which are brewed specially for the pub (see photo). Walls are covered with barometers and other knick-knacks, while the exposed joists in the ceiling display old pump clips, plus mugs in one room and Toby jugs in the other. Minimum spend of £5 for card payments. There's a 10% discount for four pint jugs of real ale or real cider.

Had a fantastic time in this 2016 Good Beer Guide pub up on Bodmin Moor. The pumps were taken over with mild beers for May, and we enjoyed sampling from the variety available. Good atmosphere with visitors and regulars mixing. The food was good too.
