Decent enough pub but only Doom Bar on when I called in. Much better options nearby but OK for one.

Through the entrance of the Mitre Hotel there is a bar on the left wall that supports a standard and premium keg range alongside two hand pumps that were drawing Sharps Doom Bar and JW Lees MPA during my weekday evening visit. A couple of steps at the end of the bar lead up to a long and thin seating area that opens up a bit at the rear with a raised seating area to the left. Muted Champions League football was being shown on a couple of televisions whilst the likes of Ed Sheeran played in the background. Food is available, the burger is priced at £14.
Whilst the service was polite, this place is more of a bar & restaurant that is best left to the unsuspecting tourists who are staying in the many rooms in the hotel above or who happen to drift in off the street.

with 4 pubs next to each other there should be no excuse for coming here but it was the only one open this morning. it isn't really anything resembling a pub, more café/bar - just the two hand pumps but there may be more in the other bar. didn't stick around long enough to care.
