Advertising itself as the airport’s hidden gem, the Romper is somewhat tucked away on the periphery of the airport, so it’s a destination pub rather than somewhere one would just happen upon. There’s a car park that sits adjacent to a patio and decked seating area that run across the front of the pub. The brewer’s rustic interior is L shaped with a central L-shaped serving counter that faces seating areas across the front and up the left-hand side. The right-hand side of the pub was empty and set for dining and there are lots of highchairs stacked by the entrance, so I think a family friendly dry led pub would be a good description. Alongside the premium keg options there are two banks of three identical hand pumps both with C&B Brewer’s Pale, Greene King IPA and a reversed clip. The service was friendly and I’m sure I’ll end up here again because it is suitably located if needing to waste some time when picking up passengers from the airport.

Pub dating back around 450years now locked unceremoniously between Manchester Airports Cargo area and the maze of airport roads , it is handily just off the road to the exellent Runway visitor park .
The front of the pub is the older part with some ancient woodwork and a couple of old fire places , probally once a three room pub it is now open plan but with a few seperate areas , there is a large extension on the back which is similar to the front of the pub . Out the front is a small patio area with a much larger beer garden around the back .
The pub is Chef and Brewer branded so very food led , very busy on my visit the unseasonly sunny weather seems to have caught them out , beer garden packed and a long wait for service due to a lack of staff .
Usual kep taps plus three handpulls Bombadier , GK IPA and Marstons Single Hop which was pretty good .
Its OK in here , though probally better to visit when a bit quieter .
