Not quite sure what to make of this pub, seems a bit of a mix as if unsure if it wants to be local pub or eatery. None of it in a bad way though
As you enter from car park door [fair sized car park, plus free on street parking]there is an area to right for diners, laid out with normal pub type chairs & tables. Directly ahead is the L shaped bar, and to left is another dining area, notice pinned up saying for diners only
The drinking bit extends all the way to other side of the pub [all along the frontage really], then turns a bit right, where you find toilets. The pub has an arrangement with East Hampshire council for general public to use these toilets [no public ones in village]
Three handpulls, plus usual range of kegs / lagers etc, I forget what I had, but the price was £3.25 a pint, which must be one of the dearest around these parts. However this is partly offset by the reasonably priced food available from a fairly extensive menu
From what I saw the food seems popular and amply portioned, never tasted it but I would like to one day as it looked very tasty. A sample menu is on their web site
Polite landlord, landlady seems to do the cooking from what I saw
According to their web site the pub was built using reclaimed materials, which is no doubt why some interior beams have old holes /slots and the like
Also does B & B
All in all worth going in if in area, maybe on South Downs way, although not actually on that route
