Situated in the Thorley area to the west of central Bishop’s Stortford, this is a fairly typical food led country style Green King pub. It sits back from the road and benefits from a large garden area to the front and multiple divided seating areas internally around the central bar area. The first section you enter into has a large impressive brick fireplace but then the rest of the areas are the usual largely devoid of character dining areas you would expect from a GK dining pub.
Three hand pump on the bar behind the current COVID screens with the usual suspects of Abbott, IPA and OSH, but at least the IPA was in decent condition.
Table service only at the moment and the young staff did initially struggle with an influx of customers, but they got there at the end. Got the impression that this is one where the experience will improve when we can get to normal bar ordering and ditch the Green King app ordering.
