Canalside modern pub/restaurant with benches along the towpath and a high ceiling interior with wings either side of the bar and a section up some steps above and behind the bar mainly used for dining.Mix of customers ,some families but only drinking is fine and in good wether the sun streams inside through the large windows.
At the bar TT Landlord,Oakham Citra (NBSS Good),Titanic Plum Porter,Bank Top Flat Cap,Glamorgan Cwrw Gorslas, Fullers Dark Star Hophead,Lunebrew Maple Noir,Black Edge Pike,Kirkby Lonsdale Little Devil IPA,Vocation Bread & Butter and Tirril Ullswater Blonde. An amazing range justifying its GBG entry.
I could and maybe should have stayed longer but this was a crawl in full swing.I would happily return to sample more of their ale.

A big modern canalside pub/restaurant, bustling, bright and open with high ceilings. A raised area holds a smart dining room while the benches along the canal outside were very popular on a sunny afternoon. A good range of handpumps offered ales from near and far - I went for a very good Lune Valley Maple Noir. As new pubs go, very nice indeed and I wish there were more like it. Mind you, we were well into the crawl by then...

Now with only (only!) 11 hand pumps on the bar, and my randomly chosen half of Settle Epic IPA was very good indeed (NBSS 4). Despite being a little bit out of the town centre, this is a busy venue, attracted by the canalside location in summer. Presumably less busy on that score today, given the unpleasant weather, this would be a destination pub in any circumstances. The lass who served me said that while many drinkers suggest drinking along the bar, as I had also joked, she's not aware that anyone ever has.
