Possibly linked to somewhere, a restaurant?, called “The Fort” on the same site. It’s another dark multi level bar in this area stiff with similar places. Not too bad, it’s a bar not a restaurant after all, four quad T-bars and a solo offer a mix of common and interesting kegs, I plumped for the Tiny Rebel Clwb Tropicana. L shaped as usual, a street level front area gives way to a higher area with the counter and there’s an upstairs I didn’t explore. Rough board flooring, grey walls, mix of hi/lo furniture, usual style for these places.

Fairly large bar, with a subterranean feel not least due to all surfaces being painted black. A frontage on Little Stonegate and an alleyway off Stonegate lead into a maze of areas with a bar in the middle. It is sufficiently dark to make it difficult to read the keg taps but I eventually made out some mainstreamish craft from Camden, Beavertown etc. with a couple more interesting including a Tiny Rebel. A recently-added TT Landlord handpump is slightly more obvious. Not sure what the place would be like when busy but on a quiet afternoon it was ok, if nothing special.

As Alex says a trendy bar in a trendy part of York. No real ale available on our visit. There's multiple rooms and areas with lots of distressed wood. A very friendly place, but we raised the average age by quite a few years. Decent music supplied by a live duo on a Sunday evening. Pretty expensive, but not bad for this kind of place.
