Strongers . left this review about The Black Bull Hotel
The Black Bull Hotel is a long and thin pub with a mix of seating at the front and rear either side of the serving counter that faces some banquette booths up the left. During a recent Tuesday evening visit the televisions throughout were airing muted darts via Sky Sports while some pop songs from the 90s played in the background. The draught selection was as interesting as the music with standard and premium keg being available alongside Old Peculiar that was badged on both hand pumps. I wasn’t that impressed with this place and I think I’d be even less impressed if I’d visited on a weekend.

Old Boots left this review about The Black Bull Hotel
Long thin pub on the Market Place with the counter running most of the middle right hand side. The only cask beer is Old Peculiar which is clipped on each of the three pulls midway along among the forest of T-Bars and solos. The left is divided into booth like seating, the far end broadens out into a more standard design with banquette seating and tables. Race day lunchtime didn’t help the painfully slow service. The OP was just above average but it’s an odd pub to serve it. More screens and machines than you can shake a stick at, a few old photos as decor.

Just a quick pint, then I'm off left this review about The Black Bull Hotel
One of several pubs on different sides of the Market Place, with this one being housed in one of the finer old buildings. However, the remodelled and refurbished interior doesn't retain much character (looking like one of the more traditional Wetherspoons). There is also a small conservatory at the back, and a very busy (part-covered) patio area to the rear. Just the regular Old Peculier (£3.01) available from the three handpumps.
