Usual Witherspoon pub, nothing special inside, lots of wood. Very comfortable seating to the left as you come in, almost booth like. Small front area almost a garden, behind doors, as a smoking area. This faces out onto the main road so you have a choice of breathing in smoke or petrol fumes. Don't think only smokers can use it, it could be used for train spotters as it faces Raynes Park station. Plenty of ales available. Friendly staff as well.

I was getting quite pessimistic about this place as I approached it from the station as it was clearly the ground floor of a faceless modern office block. Happily once inside it wasn't the disaster that some Office conversions are but quite a pleasant light and airy room. It got even better when I checked the beer range as there were several options from local breweries, but sadly I only had time for one pint. I went for the Clarence & Fredrick's IPA (£2.45) which had been something of a shambles a few weeks earlier at the Coronet in Holloway Road. This time it was in very good nick and has restored faith in this brewery as this was the first excellent pint I have had from them. I would return here if in the area to check out the locale beers.

A fairly standard Wetherspoons situated near Raynes Park Station named after the landowner whose name is synonymous with the area.

The interior consists of a large, spacious, mostly open plan room that stretches through what was presumably a couple of former retail units. There is also an extended section at the rear for additional seating although during the day it seems to be designated as a family dining area. The low ceilings make it a bit claustrophobic although some effort has been made to make it more than just a bare expanse. The overall décor is pretty bland and nondescript beyond a personalized mirror behind the bar, some old local pictures the usual ‘Spoons history snippets and, to be honest, Raynes Park is hardly an area steeped with interest.

There are 9 hand pumps dispensing a decent number of guest beers that usually includes a local oofering. Service has always been efficient and I didn’t get the overwhelming feeling of society dregs that I was expect with a Saturday night Wetherspoon crowd.

Like many ‘Spoons, what it lacks character it makes up for by way of the cheap and varied beers plus budget food and in a relatively pub free area, it more than holds enough interest for a visit.
