Country pub situated on a B-road in the parish of Cornish Hall End. I arrived at 4pm on a Thursday afternoon, just in time for the pub to open for the first time in the week. Unsurprisingly I was the first in, as the landlord was stood behind the bar watching the TV.
There is a single room with the TV at one end and a mixture of furniture.
Despite 4 or 5 handpulls, real ale is limited to Greene King IPA & Woodforde's Wherry. Service was polite, but not overly friendly. Another couple did come in who received a slightly warmer welcome. Maybe they were regulars? Nevertheless, the pub was still warm enough in temperature terms and I had a comfortable, if unspectacular visit.
Unless this pub gets much busier in the evenings, I fear for its future.
